This cushion has been successfully designed to have a lower rear edge which will consequently allow a person to sit further back in the seat, effectively optimizing the support surface contact area for pressure distribution, postural support and reducing sacral area interface pressures. The additional contouring and support under the thighs stabilises the individual further, thus reducing the damaging effects of shear.
